The team: Adrian Wallace-Scott, Musa Jarju and Lamin Fofana will train twenty Gambian constructor workers on durable eco building, ventilation and AutoCAD
The overall idea
- Run classes related to the field of Architecture and Engineering (all specific to The Gambia).
Class topics: Materiality, Sustainability, Durability, Ventilation, Studio projects and CAD.
Based at: Construction College, JK Astrup Skill Training Center, Kembujay. - Conduct field trips to show precedents of what is being taught.
Based in Tanji, The Gambia. - Run practicals related to structural engineering and sustainability which can be applied to the current climate.
Brick design: Create 10 different variations of brick and test the effectiveness of each.
Based in the: Construction College, JK Astrup Skill Training Center, Kembujay.

Aspirations from the project
- Understand the ‘Vernacular Architecture’ of The Gambia.
- Introduce structural design elements.
- Oversee a practical exercise related to materiality.
- Produce a self ran studio project.
